Missionaries never die, just the name-tag does!!

Hey Y'all!!!

Whelp this is my final email. :( I will be flying to Boston next Monday (25th) to be with Mom and Ron for a week! (They are Temple missionaries there till November.) Then on June 1st I will be flying to Salt Lake City and will be released in Brigham.  Crazy how fast time flies! I never thought this day would come and I still am in denial that I am leaving good ole' Georgia. I love it here SO MUCH!!! Man the people are my favorite! Everyone waves to one another and they tell you "well I reckon we be fixin' to get going soon." I'm sure gonna miss it here!

This past week was what our district was calling "all-star" week! It was to pump us all up to reach our goals at the end of the transfer... well it was our worst week (as in numbers/goals) ever! :( We did lots of service though! Sister Muegge had the best idea ever! So there is this amazing thrift shop that we love! It is supporting a children's home too. Every time we go there the same, sweet old lady is working by herself. So Sister Muegge said lets go and ask her if we can do service for her?! AWESOME!!! :) SO that is in the plans now! :) We also have been helping some members out with cleaning, moving and organizing their houses! Candace is also doing better! She told us that she still wants to get baptized, she is working towards it and everything! She just needs to have everything medical taken care of. Well I hope we can help her see that she will have more peace and assurance with everything once she is baptized. I just love her though! :)

I have learned SO MUCH while I've been on my mission! So much growth and being stretched out of comfort zone. I have a firm testimony of this gospel and how it not only blesses lives, but changes them for the better! I know it is true! I know that Jesus is the Christ and he suffered and died for each and everyone of us! I often think of a line from the song 'This is the Christ' "How many drops of blood were spilled for me?" What an awe inspiring thought that is. He is the perfect example. I have been working on becoming more like Him. He has many attributes. When I first came out in the field, during my first interview President Cottle asked me what my mission goal was? I hadn't really thought about it, but I knew I needed to and wanted to work on charity. So that has been one of my main focus for the past 18 months. 1 Peter 4:8 has helped me so much with understanding charity. But in the Joseph Smith translation it says "... for charity preventeth a multitude of sins." King James version: "And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins."
I have never prayed so hard, then on my mission. I know God hears and answers our prayers! He is very much aware of us and He loves us all way beyond our comprehension. I am so grateful that He trusted me enough to send me on a mission, so I can help the people here in Georgia and South Carolina find the truth! I really love these people!
Like everyone, I am continually learning, growing and improving. I always want to be an instrument for good. I want to remain and continue to strive to be obedient, for i know that when we are more blessings come! I can tell a difference when I haven't been fully obedient. Heavenly Father really wants to bless us! All we have to do is have a willing heart and follow Him!

I love y'all so much! I will be seeing many of you real soon. Keep fighting for the truth! xoxo Peace out!

Miracles, Mothers day, Exchanges and The Crescent!

Hey Y'all!!!

So since I talked with my fam yesterday this probs will be a short email, plus we are gonna go tie dye stuff real soon! :)

So this week flew by SUPER fast! It feels like 3 days ago was p-day! So this week was busy! We celebrated Cinco de Mayo, but Elder Ah Fook got hit by a car when they were riding to the restaurant! He is ok, but his bike got messed up!

We saw Candace and Jamie a few times! So the first time we saw them this week was so weird! We were teaching them about Eternal Marriage/Temples and Family history. We decided to read The Family: A Proclamation to the World with them.... well that opened up a can of worms or something. Good gravy! They just gave some interesting remarks and were confused and not humble or open to learn or listen! The spirit was gone and it was not a happy place. I felt like we just needed to leave, I was sad tho cause I love them so much! Well two days later we go over again and it was such a different feeling! I have been praying for Candace and Jamie a lot and I feel like Candace is ready, but Jamie is not ready and he is getting defensive. :( So sad! And I feel like that is a big reason why Candace chose to not get baptized this week. But Candace, man I just love her SO much!!! She was at church for all 3 hours!!! Her first time she has stayed that long! She loved it and made some friends!! :)

Wednesday was exchanges! I stayed in Valdosta and Sister Wheelwright was with me! She is so sweet and has served here before, so that was a lot of fun! We got a new gator!! Angie lives in the projects and just had brain surgery, neck surgery and knee surgery! Her daughter is Brianna and is 15. They both are awesome! She was a media referral from a friend in Atlanta. We taught her the first lesson and she enjoyed it. She doesn't have to much Bible knowledge and just moved here. She is excited to get a copy of the BOM and to learn more! We went back to another appointment with her. Brianna answered and said her mom had a DR's appointment and she forgot. So we taught Brianna about the BOM and gave her, her own copy! I am excited to teach them! :)

It was so awesome talking with my family yesterday! It was a lot easier saying goodbye since I will be seeing them in 2 to 3 weeks! :) Which doesn't feel real to me. It feels like I have 3 to 4 months left! Which I am totally ok with that! I love my mission SO MUCH!!! I love the people here in Georgia and all that I have learned! I really don't want it to end! "Are you willing to change?" - Elder Zwick Much love! xoxoxo

"Reverence leads to Revelation." - Sister Zwick

Hey Y'all!!!

So this past week was awesome, but also a bit of a struggle cause I was sick and then we had a half mission zone conference with Elder Zwick of the 70 up in Macon! So not as much work was done as I would have liked, but It was still awesome and I learned a lot! :)

So first off Candace has been super sick! So her baptism is pushed back and we were unable to visit her. But we texted her a lot and took over a card and a stuff Eeyore! She loved it (but was sleeping so she told us later!) Candace is having a lot of concerns and also feels like she needs more time to learn. So she isn't sure if she wants to set another date just yet. :( But I still love her tons and I can see her potential! She is great and is so willing to learn!

So Elder Zwick! Man he is so AWESOME!!! The conference was longer than normal, but was such a spiritual powerhouse! Sometimes the spirit was so strong that it felt like you could cut it with a knife! He talked about so many different things, but they all focused on the main point of being obedient and giving your will to our Heavenly Father. He talked about how our calling is divine and that all of us were placed in our mission by an apostle of God and it is by revelation. It is the same as getting a companion and a new area! He had everyone in their companionship chose an attribute or principle they have learned together in the past 3 weeks, share a story, scripture and testify. Well he was only gonna chose 4 companionships to come up and share. So there was roughly 120 missionaries there and Sister Muegge and I were chosen... man I thought I would be nervous to get up in front of everyone, but i wasn't! Sister Muegge was, but I told her everything was ok and she prayed and then calmed down. :) We did great and then Elder Zwick had us stay up there as he talked to all of us about missionary stuff. He is so nice and very personable! And then later I won in a PMG race, so at lunch he comes up to me and congratulates me and told me again how impressed he was with my story and testimony. :) Sister Zwick also spoke to us about prayer, finding the joy in our missions every day! And she also said that reverence brings revelation. That was said at the very beginning of the conference and it totally changed the feel of it! Like I said before, it was so spiritually empowering and I had ALL of my questions and concerns answered! It was just marvelous! :)

Proverbs 3:5 is the "Theme" scripture for the week! :) "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."  The Lord knows all things past, present and future. Follow the revelation and inspiration you receive, even when you don't understand why. Give your whole heart to Him! Heavenly Father wants us to be happy and to succeed! Never forget how much He loves each and every one of us! Luv y'all! xoxoxo

I'm proud to be a Mormon!

Howdy Y'all!

So this past week has been crazy and weird! I'm sure many of you have see Valdosta State University on the news this past week. Well that my area, we are the YSA Sisters and we go there often and even have a booth. As missionaries we are kinda out of the news so we really have no idea whats going on unless someone tells us. Well on Wednesday we had our booth on campus and we did notice that there were A LOT of police walking around, but we were totally clueless. lol! Thankfully that evening our investigator Candace showed us the news clip from the guy walking on the American flag and the stuff he was saying. Then Friday morning the ward mission leader called all the missionaries in the ward boundaries and told us all what was happening! SO we informed our mission president and we were 'ordered' on a lock down if it got really bad and to stay away from that part of town and not to go tracting. So many people kept their kids out of school that day due to fear, guns, the KKK and the black panthers. The peeps here in Valdosta were really in a uproar and it was kinda crazy! Luckily Sister Muegge and I went out with a member for the day in the small towns far out in the country. So we were safe. :) Plus we got to be in the country!!! I have realized that I am not a city girl, I love small towns and the country! :) So back to the protest... Well one of the young women went to it for a little bit out of curiosity and told us that she saw KKK people and Black Panther people on the street and there were many cars and motorcycles driving around with flags. She also said in her school many kids were getting checked out cause of the treats and stuff... man! We didn't realize how crazy it was! So all I can say is that I am grateful for the truths that I know and that I get to share with others! :)

We taught Candace about the priesthood and missionary work last week! She had some good questions and concerns, but mainly she is struggling with the idea that men and women are equal. She can't fully grasp the idea how the church views women and the role we have as important. :( Sister Muegge and I both bore our testimonies on how important women's roles are and how sacred they are. I felt impressed to show her a talk from Gordon B. Hinckley back in 2003. Its addressed to the women of the church. It brought the spirit in so strong! I got the impression that she will learn over time as she is in the church. :) All will be well and her husband treats her so well and doesn't think the same way she does about the difference between men and women. I love Candace and am so excited for her to be baptized!!!!

We found someone new to teach! We were going to find a lot of formers and most of them weren't home or had moved. Well at one house (in the ghetto!) they were having a party outside, so we decided to join them! lol! We met many peeps and one of them was very interested in learning more! Her name is Terrica (Tara-ca) and she has very limited knowledge about religion and really doesn't know anything about Jesus Christ. This is a new way of teaching down here in the South cause almost everyone has some level of faith in Him! We made a return appointment when people would be sober for the next day. We took the Swanks (Senior couple missionaries) with us and had a great lesson on the Restoration! She soaked it up and had so many questions! She was suppose to be at church but nope she didn't show up. :( But we will be seeing her this week!

SO something cool this week was when we had sports morning with investigators and members, we played soccer in a rain storm! It was legit and we were soaked!!! Plus we were all slipping and sliding so it was very entertaining! lol! :) And then we had a HUGE food fight at lunch! lol! I now have full filled a dream of mine! Thanks to Sister Muegge! :) Plus we beat the Elders! lol!

I have been reading the book of Mosiah again and I have to say that it is one of my favorite books! I love reading about Ammon and how strong and faithful of a leader he is. I like in verse 19 to 33 where he is talking about trusting in God, doing His will and being obedient. Because when you do you are even more blessed and favored of Him!

I love you all! xoxoxo

The start of my final transfer... Dang! Time has flown by terribly fast!

Hey Y'all!!!

This past week was CRAZY!!!! For reals! Transfers happened. I said bye to Sister An. :( I'm missing her! I also got to see some of my mission buddies!!! Sister Gray and I hugged for a long time! She even picked me up and didn't put me down for a minute or so! lol! I just love her! :) My new companion is Sister Muegge from St. George Utah! She has been out for 6 months now. We get along very well too! She is very outgoing and friendly and loves people! :)

This whole week we have been going to early morning seminary and helping out. This means we are waking up a lot earlier and have to be at the church by 6:20 am! (ya we all are super tired! But its so worth it!) These kids are rock stars! This whole week has been their missionary week! They have to live by certain standards the whole week, no TV, computers, electronics, etc. They are only allowed to use their phones for parents and the Internet for homework. They also have to wear missionary clothes all day on Wednesday. They all receive "mission calls". Some went to Japan, Haiti, Ghana, California. Pretty sweet! They were put into companionship's and we helped them with their companion studies and also with district meetings. We taught them one morning about effective studies and then for their Wednesday night mutual activity, us missionaries were in charge! It was awesome! We had a mock zone training meeting and had some "investigators" for them to teach! Pretty legit! I wish we had done something like this when I was in young women's! All the youth are awesome, but I am SO impressed with Emma Oaks! She just turned 15 last week and is on fire with missionary work!! She has a rock solid testimony and just funny! I have claimed her as my little minion aka sister. lol ;) All her older siblings are less active and she keeps on encouraging them to come back to church! She never gives up!

So Tuesday night all 6 of us missionaries here in Valdosta went to a tent revival service! Man it was CRAZY!!! There were many preachers, but one of them was SCREAMING about hell and how people go there and there is no return! Man it was scary!!! And so depressing! They need the fullness of the gospel! They don't have the Eternal Perspective, so sad. :( Also he was yelling that if you want to be saved come touch his hand. So people went up there. Us and the Elders were looking around not sure what to do or what was going on. I had this sick feeling and I knew this was not true! I was so ready to leave when this lady comes up to my companion and I and starts crying. She told us that she is a less active and is there with her son and some friends had invited them. Her son is 12 and was asking her if he was saved? She knew what the preacher was saying was wrong and told her son so. She was praying that she would find a member so she could feel loved and the truthfulness of the gospel. That's when she turned around and saw us! She said once she saw us, she was overwhelmed with this warm and comfortable feeling. She knew without a doubt that she belonged to the true church and is ready to come back! We got all her info and are know meeting with her! :) I loved it! I knew we were suppose to stay there. After she talked with us I felt better about being there too! :) I am so grateful to be apart of this church! I know it is true and we are lead and guided by a prophet called of God. I feel so blessed to have an eternal perspective in this life. Families can be together forever! How glorious is this message?!

On Saturday we had a zone service project in Tifton! All 26 missionaries helped American Red Cross knock on doors and install smoke alarms for free! It was so much fun! Pretty much we were tracting and asking if they had one? and if they did if it worked? Or if they didn't then would they like one? We also had rad vest to wear! Oh Yeah! We were in teams of 4. Sister Muegge and I were with the zone leaders (Elder Herzog and Elder Nelson) in the ghetto!!! But we had great success! Plus we saw lots of police arresting some peeps... lol But it was cool. We also got the Elders some return appointments! The only weird thing was when we knocked on the doors and they yelled "who is it?!" Instead of yelling 'missionaries!' we yelled 'red cross!' lol It was a change and more peeps answered the doors. lol!

Well hope y'all are doing fantastic?!! Continue to be grateful for all that you have! Notice and appreciate the small stuff! Y'all are great! xoxoxoxo

A dunkin' week!!!

Hey y'all!!!

This past week was so amazing!!! I really love it here in Valdosta! The work is on fire and I am witnessing so many miracles! We had a baptism this week, did service, and helped our investigators continue to have faith in Jesus Christ, repent, work towards baptism and confirmation and also to endure to the end. :)

Last Tuesday we had a great lesson with Candace on Fasting and Tithing. She is so prepared, and very willing to do these once she is baptized. But she told us she is still not ready to set a date. We could tell there was something minor holding her back, but she didn't/wasn't ready to talk about it. So we left and the power was strong! Maybe an hour later she texted us and said "I want to be baptized!" "I feel this is what I need to do." Well dang!!! We were totally dancing around when we read those texts! :) So we called her and she told us what had changed her! She is friends with a good group of RM's and converts on FB, they are in this group and one of them introduced her to a recent convert who has/had similar situations and personality. Well she just told her that the church is not for perfect people and to not be intimidated. Candace was also concerned about having tattoos. This wonderful sister helped calm her fears and have faith and see the big picture! So Candace realized they were not big issues at all and it was time for her to be baptized!!! woot woot!! We told her how happy and proud we are of her and that when we see her next we would make a baptismal calendar with her! She picked her own date! May 9th! :) I am SO happy and excited for her! Plus I feel like this will help Jamie in making a decision too! :) Also they both were at church yesterday!!!

Us and the Elders had a fun experience at one dinner this past week! One member is Nigerian and his wife cooked authentic food! We had to eat it with our hands... yup and it was a stew! So there was this thick grits like stuff that we would use to pick the stew up with. It was so delicious! Did you know there is an art when eating with your hands?!? Ya I had no idea until this past week. We all watched our host and followed suit... but I still got messy, but the Elders were worst off than me. lol :)

We had a great ZTM last week! I really enjoyed the training's on hymns and the atonement!  We also all made drawings for the #BecasueHeLives and how it affects us personally. :) Then we took a zone picture! :) I love being a missionary!

Gwen was baptized on Saturday!!!! It was a very special service and the spirit was so strong! Many members are working on knowing ASL so they can have some type of communication with her! :) Elder Noll was able to do the baptism ordinance first in ASL and then verbally. Super cool! And then on Sunday when she was confirmed he sat in front of her and signed her blessing to her, Bishop Hyer confirmed her a member! When Gwen sat back down next to me after the confirmation she was in tears. It doesn't matter what language you speak, the spirit is always the same. :) Gwen is so sweet and has a firm testimony! :)

Welp I will be getting a new companion tomorrow and Sister An will head back to Temple square on Wednesday. I am now in my last transfer... how the time has flown by. :( I absolutely love my mission and the good people here in South Georgia and South Carolina! #FinishingStrong
Much love! xoxoxo

General Conference miracles! :)

Dearest Family and Friends!

Didn't y'all just love General Conference?!?!?! It was SO AMAZING!! So many, if not all of my questions and concerns were answered during one of the six sessions! I am so grateful for the Prophet and Apostles and all of the auxiliary leaders. They truly are called and inspired of God! I had so many favorite speakers/talks, but a few that truly touched and helped me are: President Eyring (in the Saturday morning session), Linda Burton, Wilford Andersen, Bonnie Oscarson, Brent Nielson, Kevin Pearson, and Elder Ballard! And of course many more, but these ones stand out in my mind! :) If you missed any sessions you should go online to lds.org and watch them! It truly will help you in whatever circumstance of life you are in or going through!

Candace has come a long way since last week!!! She opened up and explained her feelings to us, and we were able to tell her that as her missionaries we cannot help her if she does not tell us what is going on in her mind and life. She appreciated that we told her that and totally understood where we are coming from! So last week was awesome! She is progressing very well and wants to be baptized! She is just praying for a date! :) She watched 2 sessions of General Conference and loved them!!! I know it helps for investigators to hear for themselves the Prophet's and Apostles' voices! I just love Candace and Jamie! They are so humble and willing to learn the truth. They want to grow in this gospel and to learn for themselves how it can change and better their lives!

So Gwen!!!! She is getting baptized this Saturday!!! She also watched the Sunday morning session of General Conference and loved it! We had so many miracle lessons with her this past week! We had exchanges and while on exchanges we taught her the word of wisdom with Elder Noll translating and helping us teach! So we find out that she just loves her tea, she has it every morning and it makes her very happy! Well before we had introduced the WOW by explaining that it was revelation given to Joseph Smith. We just asked her if she would be willing to give it up? She thought on it for maybe 10 seconds and then said "Yes! I can drink orange juice or milk instead." Wow!! She is do golden!!! She even thought of her own replacements! i just love Gwen! She has strong and pure testimony! So sweet and humble! I am way excited for her to be baptized! I know that when we knocked on her door and found her it was the Lord leading and guiding us to her, cause the field is white already to harvest and we just had to thrust in our sickle and work hard and obedient! The Lord is already preparing people to except this gospel. They are just waiting for us to find them! :)

I am loving my mission so much! It is flying by way to fast!! We have transfer calls this coming Saturday and we already know that Sister An is going, cause she has to go back to Temple square. :( But one of the cool parts is I will be able to visit her on Temple square when I get home!!! :) She also loves donuts so I told her I would bring her some! lol! :)

I love y'all so much!!! xoxoxo

#ValdostaOnFire

Hey Y'all!!!

This past week was AWESOME!!!!! So many miracles and growth is happening here in the V-town!!! :) I absolutely love it here! I loved working in the small towns, but in the bigger cities there are SO many more peeps to talk with!!! So much to share and SO little time! ...............

We had Zone Conference and learned so much! There is this new Easter initiative that the church is doing! http://www.mormon.org/easter  Go to the web page and watch the video if you haven't already! It is only 2 minutes and so worth your time! :) Our Savior Lives! I know this for myself and I love Him very much! Oh how glorious is Easter and that we are reminded more about our Saviors great sacrifice for each and everyone of us. The atonement is real and I have felt it for myself. We are all worthy and loved to use it! It brings such comfort and healing to all.

We had 3 gators at church yesterday!!! And Gwen is on date!!! She prayed about April 11th and feels very good about it! We feel like everything should work out. :) So even more miracles! At ZC I was sitting next to an Elder and he had a ASL CTR ring on. Find out he is fluent in ASL!!! And his area is only 1 hour away from us. So he got permission to come down and help us teach! :) It was good and is helping a lot!  But at the same time it is... different teaching with Elders. They just have a different approach, method in how they teach. lol  But both ways work great, just a new adventure!

Candace and Jamie are doing good, but are starting to plateau.... :( Candace went with us to watch the women's general broadcast and she was at church for all 3 hours!! But I highly don't like and discouraged her from searching for things online... there is so much negative stuff and really if you don't think reading just a little won't affect you, then you should rethink how you view things. When we are searching for negative, then we are leaving the door wide open for the adversary to come into our lives and influence even more! But when we are opening positive doors by reading our scriptures, going to church, praying, etc then we are letting the Savior have be the influence in our lives. You cannot do both! You cannot serve two masters as it says in Matthew 6:24" No man can serve two masters: for either he will hatethe one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

So yesterday was full of miracles, but the first is during Branch council, we are in the President's office and a knock comes, so we open the door and standing outside is a frightened lady wearing jeans and a t-shirt. It is apparent that she isn't sure of herself right then. I thought that is was a lady off the street asking for money or food cause that does happen often out here. Well she said that she wanted to see if there was anyone able to teach her 14 year old daughter the gospel cause she has been asking lots of questions cause her friend at school is a member! So Sister An and I step out into the hallway with her and we introduce ourselves and she tells us her story. She believes that her children can make there own decisions when it comes to religion, but she wants them to be properly educated by someone who is meant to 'preach', not by a peer cause she doesn't want her daughter to just get bits and pieces. Pretty awesome and it took a lot of courage to come into the church! :) We also found out that Sunshyne (that is her name)'s dad use to be a member and she went to church with her grandparents a few times when they visited. SO she has a bit of knowledge and her husband has a similar story. But neither of them are baptized. And they will be feeding us next week when we have a lesson!!! :) #maconmiracles

The other miracle is when we were driving back after dinner we pasted a gator that we haven't seen in a long time. We weren't sure if she dropped us cause she was never home or answered her phone. Well Sylvia was home and so excited to see us! She is doing much better! She was beat up by her husband. She is glowing and has decided not to go back with him! :) She has been reading the BOM and really wants to come to church next week! We told her about General Conference and she almost pouted cause she really wants to be the members at the church! lol :) We told her we would find her some to watch it with since we already have been invited to go to members or gators for ALL the sessions! She is excited to listen to the Prophet speak! :) We are super happy! And we also be teaching her this week!!! :)

So speaking of General Conference, I am WAY excited for it!!! :) Its like super bowl for Mormons... or maybe just us missionaries, but anyway it is AWESOME and so spiritually felling! :) If you don'y know how or when to watch it go to How to watch General Conference! And there is all the info! It is this coming weekend, April 4th and 5th! And go with questions that you have, the Lord will answer your questions in General Conference if you come prepared and are listening! Such a blessing to be able to hear from the Prophet and Apostles live, twice a year! :)

Love y'all! xoxo

The Lord provides technology to accomplish His purpose - Randall L. Ridd

Hey Y'all!!!

So Gwen has given me a real sign name now! It is the letter W and you kinda wave/spin it in front of where missionary name tag go. :) We were able to get her in contact with the ASL sisters on Temple square!!!! So she has been learning from them and us! We have found a ASL interrupter who is willing to go to our lessons starting this coming week! She is a nonmember, is married to a LA! This Sunday Gwen came to church again! :) A sweet lady in the family ward was so willing to type what was being said! She was a life saver!!! :) I am so grateful for members who are willing to help out and serve others! :)

So Jamie and Candace are both not members! We were so confused! lol But I love them so much! They really are golden! I have never met anyone who is so thirsty for the Gospel! Like we couldn't teach her fast enough! So Jamie is waiting for his best friend to get off his mission... next February! (2016) Crazy! And Candace knows that being the same religion as your spouse is important so she is so ready to learn!!! :) So we had a great lesson with her and we were there for 3 hours because she had so many questions and was pretty much inhaling everything! Also she is SO smart!! Literately I felt like we were pouring water slowly into her mouth so it didn't overwhelm her and she just kept grabbing the container and trying to 'drown' herself in it! lol Man I just love her SO much! They both are awesome and came to sports morning on Saturday! We played football in the humidity and heat! But it was a lot of fun! :)

We had great success at the booth that we put up on campus! two of the Elders helped us also! We talked with lots of students and few were interested, but a couple came over and told us they are currently taking a class on Mormonism... say WHAT!!??!! But they were all nice for the most part. We had a return appointment with a student from Cameroon in Africa! He was pretty cool and had a lot of questions. He has a hard time understanding the priesthood authority. But has a lot of compassion.

So thats pretty much it for this week... just having a great time down here in the deep (and hot) South!!! I love my mission so much and am so grateful for all the miracles and blessings I have been apart of! Much love! xoxoxo

My sign name is utah...?

Dearest family and friends!

Well this week was over all good, many adventures and lots of teaching and finding moments!

So this last week we went tracting in the rain and found this lady sitting outside in just her underwear smoking. Yup that was awkward, but best part was meeting this super nice lady (Gwen)... but she is deaf. So we had a hard time communicating with her, but she wants to learn more. After trying to communicate for an hour we get her info and set up a return appointment for the next day! We were super stoked and were pretty much running around trying to find a member who knew ASL or any type of signing. Well we found someone... but she is moving this Saturday!  But she comes with us and it was great! We talked about the BOM and she wanted one and wanted to come to church! She did! And she loved it, but it was hard having peeps interrupt for her. So we are trying to get Sisters on Temple square teach her via Skype! She gave us sign names and mine means Utah and sister An's is just her last name. lol!

We have been trying to set up a booth on campus since we are the YSA sisters and are YSA teaching pool is really small... like we just have LA's & RC's right now. Well it was an adventure thats for sure! We were trying to fill out some paper work so we can have a booth on campus, but the peeps there weren't available so we were asked to wait. So the Elders and us had lunch on campus. Its weird being at a university... Like all the students stared at us. lol They had no idea how to take us! And some of the faculty thought we were there for a job interview or something. But the peeps never showed up, so we are gonna keep trying!

While tracting we found a RC, who is in the air-force and just moved here. He just got married too! He is 20 and joined the church in October 2013 while he was in basic training. His wife is not a member and they want to keep learning! They came to the cottage meeting on Friday! This is where the RC's and members can get to know each other better by playing games and eating food! Just like FHE really. Jamie and Candace are just awesome! I really like them! :)

The Elders had a half family baptism on Saturday!!! It was super awesome! this family has been learning for a year now! They are the Walkers and just awesome! :) They have asked us Sisters to meet with their teenage daughters to help them to continue progress! :) And after they had a BBQ!

Have I mentioned that I love this area?!?   After a dinner appointment this cute 3 year old girl was talking about Star Wars and so I asked her if she liked it? She said yes and I like the girls... do you like the boys in Star Wars? HAHAHHA It was just so unsuspected! lol :)

A scripture that has been helping me is Alma 38:5  And now my son, Shiblon, I would that ye should remember, that as much as ye shall put your trust in God even so much ye shall be delivered out of your trials, and your troubles, and your afflictions, and ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

I love y'all so much!!! xoxoxoxoxoxo

In the V town!!

Here is Tara's newest address:
1574 Baytree rd. #23
Valdosta, GA 31602

Hey Y'all!!!

SO my new area is Valdosta Georgia and I am over the YSA branch here... its tiny! But I am loving it here already! I feel like I am suppose to be here! :) Plus since we are on the Florida border it is HOT!!! My companion is Sister An from Taiwan! She is a Salt Lake Temple square missionary on her outbound. She has only been here for one transfer and doesn't know the area too well, so we have been getting lost a lot! lol! :)

The branch is super small and only has 3 to 5 active people. So we have a lot of work to do. But we also work with the family ward too. There are 4 Elders in the ward, so lots of missionaries! Way fun! :) I spoke in sacrament yesterday and it was different, but cool! We meet in the relief society room and there was only 8 to 10 people there, so I felt more like I was giving a lesson, than a talk... but people couldn't answer. It has to be my favorite talk that I have given out here so far! They just asked me to speak on what I have learned on my mission and how it has strengthen my testimony in Christ! So I talked a lot on charity, the BOM, doing God's will and being humble! "Christlike love is the greatest need we have on this planet." - Elder Holland

We had this amazing media referral! Sylvia is in her 40's and use to meet with missionaries in the 80's! She told us that one day at work a customer was reading the BOM and she asked to borrow it. She remembered reading it and the peace it brought her. So the girl gave her the church's phone number but every time she called no one answered. Well later she was online and an ad for the church popped up! And she says she normally ignores them, but this time she looked and ordered a BOM! Well is was only 3 days later that we showed up! SHe was so excited and touched! :) She wants to learn more and come to church! Woot woot!

I really miss my last companion: Sister Gray! We have become best friends! She also has a temple square sister! But I know that the Lord has a great plan for us all, so we can continue to progress and improve! During relief society they share a quote that I really like. "Christ changes men, and changed men can change the world." - President Benson.

I love y'all so much! xoxoxo
